Origin Country: Australia
Region of Production: Barossa Valley (Single Vineyard, Estate Grown) Sealed under Premium cork
Winemaking Notes:
Our Shiraz wines' longest-living wear pridefully ‘Black Hinge’ label. Power and richness, but balanced in ripeness, alcohol, and oak. The Black Hinge comes from the best of the vineyard, hand-harvested, sorted and fermented separately. A small open fermenter, perfect for gentle hand plunging, was used to ensure soft but thorough cap management. Run to barrel for natural malolactic fermentation and a long sleep of 16-18 months in fine French oak barrels.
Vineyard Report:
Entirely produced from vines grown at Pindarie. The Black Hinge Shiraz is selected and hand harvested from the oldest block, “North Shiraz long rows,” grown on our prized Terra Rossa soils. Vintage 2016 was excellent! Early ripening, great weather, small berries, and exceptional colour...made the process easy.
